Newly heartbroken and alone, Daniel (Plutarco Haza) also struggles to make a living as an actor. In short, his life is looking like a complete failure. Then his ex-girlfriend’s father, Don Gustavo, unexpectedly knocks on his door and informs him that he has an 8-year-old daughter named Samantha. Suddenly, Daniel is faced with a whole new set of problems that make his previous complaints seem trivial. In the similar vein of the smash hit Instructions Not Included, Mi Mejor Regalo is a story about unexpected love and finding the strength to persevere despite life’s many obstacles. The San Diego Latino Film Festival will at the UltraStar Cinemas in Mission Valley 7510 Hazard Center Dr., and will also be showcasing films with such celebrities as John Leguizamo, Jaime Camil and Gael Garcia Bernal.

For all film lovers, festival passes are now on sale. The All Access Festival Pass which includes over 150 programs costs $200 and the Film Pass offering entrance to 11 films is selling for $100.
